Dino Skeleton Terrain
I recently bought a couple of toy dinosaur skeletons from poundland and have actually followed through on my intention to turn them into a couple of basic terrain pieces. I didn't do much too them, simply stuck them to a piece of card painted green and flocked, and gave them a simple gyphon sepia wash. It seems to have worked out alright, I'm not claiming they're fantastic, but for the price paid they will do the job nicely.

I think the pose looks rather odd: skeletons don't usually stand unsupported. I don't know how hard it would have been to break these toys up. Maybe an alternative would have been to build a mound underneath them, so they're lying flat on the ground. But that would have been more work and, as you say, for something so cheap, quick and easy they're pretty nice. I might have to investigate my local pound store...
ReplyDeleteI'm considering adding a bit more folliage to the bases to fill them out a bit, but I've got so many other projects on the go, I don't want to devote to much time to them.
